Clinton Policy Institute

A hub of innovative ideas and solutions that improve the lives of people across the country

Our mission

The Clinton Policy Institute will develop and share policy solutions to today’s most pressing problems – at the national, state and local levels.

American democracy is under threat, and many Americans have lost faith that elected officials and government will deliver for them in these challenging times. At the same time, states and cities are our nation’s laboratories of democracy, and good ideas proliferate in communities across the country. We can both support and learn from these models, as we build a vision for the future grounded in values of freedom, responsibility, community, innovation that have always been the hallmark of the American spirit.

It’s not enough to know what you’re against. We need a positive agenda that will bring people together to produce positive changes, to protect American values, and ensure a healthy, prosperous, and secure future for our children and grandchildren.

Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton

Nothing great has ever happened out of cynicism — it happens out of optimism and community and organizing.

Dr. Chelsea Clinton

Our democracy must be not only the envy of the world but the engine of our own renewal. There is nothing wrong with America that cannot be cured by what is right with America

President Bill Clinton

OUR APPROACH

  • 1

Develop and share innovative policy solutions

in four areas – health, economic security, children’s safe and healthy development, and democratic and civic resilience. We will help state and local leaders develop ideas, craft legislation and executive actions, and implement laws and policies.

  • 2

    Convene leaders

from government, the private sector and civil society. We will bring people together to share ideas and resources and to build the coordination and collaboration necessary to deliver and disseminate effective policy solutions.

  • 3

    Respond

to urgent challenges, providing quick policy responses or effective communications campaigns that can be deployed rapidly.
