Clinton Presidential Center Presents “Be Our Guest”

Join us Friday, December 1 at 5 p.m., when the Clinton Presidential Center Presents our new exhibition, “Be Our Guest.” This exhibit explores diplomatic visits to the White House by foreign leaders during the Clinton administration. And you have a seat at the table!

President Bill Clinton will offer opening remarks and Stephanie S. Streett will moderate a conversation with Clinton administration alumni Ambassador Capricia Marshall, Ambassador Nancy Soderberg, and White House Photographer Sharon Farmer, who will share memorable, behind-the-scenes moments from diplomatic visits.

“Be Our Guest” is a dynamic exhibit showcasing the archives and gifts collected, preserved, and stored by the Clinton Presidential Library and Museum. In addition, this exhibit features video interviews with President Bill Clinton and key members of Clinton administration staff, recounting stories rarely heard before. These short documentary-style films bring the archival materials to life.

Sharon Farmer served in the Clinton administration as official White House photographer (1993-1999) and director of the White House photography office (1999-2001).

Ambassador Capricia Penavic Marshall served in the Clinton administration as special assistant to the first lady (1993-1997) and deputy assistant to the president and White House social secretary (1997-2001). In the Obama administration, she was appointed chief of protocol of the United States (2009-2013).

Ambassador Nancy Soderberg served in the Clinton administration as deputy assistant to the president for national security affairs (1993-1997), the first woman to hold this position, and alternate representative to the United Nations (1997 – 2001).

Stephanie S. Streett is the executive director of the Clinton Foundation. In the Clinton administration, she served as special assistant to the president, deputy assistant to the president, and assistant to the president and director of scheduling.
