Curbside Couture is Arkansas's largest "green" fashion show, where third-twelfth grade students create and model designs made from recycled material.
Design Details
Designs are divided into two categories: Separates (a single design piece) and Total Designs (a complete outfit). Accessories are also encouraged to enhance the overall design.
Ten Years of Curbside Couture
When we started this program 10 years ago, we wanted to give students an outlet to showcase their creativity, as well as encourage environmental stewardship.
2021 Virtual Fashion Show
In 2021, more than 35 student designers created hand-made looks using everything from puzzle pieces and grocery bags to old Halloween costumes and artificial flowers.
Mentoring Sessions with Professional Designers
Students who participate in Curbside Couture are given the opportunity to engage with professional designers and receive feedback from them about their designs in a mentoring session.
Awards for Outstanding Designs
Cash prizes are awarded to students with outstanding designs chosen by a professional panel of judges.
