Clinton Policy Institute

Advancing the wellbeing of children and families — one practical policy solution at a time.

Our Mission

The Clinton Policy Institute (CPI) is dedicated to improving the lives of children and families by identifying, developing, and scaling the practical policy solutions that make a real difference in people’s lives.

Grounded in the belief that it takes a village to give every child a fair shot, CPI works where change is actually happening: with state and local innovators testing new approaches to the challenges facing families. And because children and families can only thrive when the institutions around them work, CPI is also committed to strengthening the democratic foundations and civic infrastructure that make everything else possible.

Our Leadership

CPI is a team of policy leaders with deep experience developing solutions and advancing effective public policy that strengthens communities and expands opportunity.

Democratic Resilience

Families need a government that works for them. So much of what shapes a family’s life — schools, health care, economic opportunity — is decided by the leaders they elect and the institutions they’re asked to trust. CPI works to restore a democracy that works for families: defending democratic resilience, bolstering civic engagement, and helping government deliver.

Our Work

Defending Democratic Resilience

Promoting free fair and elections, the rule of law, and every community’s right to elect representatives of its choice to ensure families have good schools, safe neighborhoods, and a fair shot for their kids.

Bolstering Civic Engagement

Investing in civic education, trusted information, and the civic infrastructure that helps families fully participate fully in their democracy in order to rebuild both the ties that bind neighbors to each other and the organizations that turn public voice into action.

Helping Governments Deliver

Strengthening the capacity of state and local institutions to make government visibly work for families to prove that public institutions can still solve public problems.
