About the Reproductive Justice Action Network

Threats to comprehensive reproductive care are driving devastating outcomes, with the U.S. having the highest maternal and infant mortality rates among high-income countries. As access becomes increasingly restricted nationwide and patients and providers navigate growing legal and practical barriers, rates are expected to rise and equity gaps will continue to widen — reversing decades of progress.

Our Approach

At the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) 2023 Annual Meeting, Dr. Chelsea Clinton launched the Reproductive Justice Action Network to convene stakeholders across sectors, disciplines, geographies, and communities. Members are committed to aligning policy, health care delivery, and financing; sharing knowledge and best practices; amplifying the voices of people and communities most affected; and collaborating on new commitments to drive systems-level change.

Through CGI, Community Health Center, Inc. announced an expansion of its maternal health equity work—including stakeholder convenings, technical support, educational campaigns, and more—to address disparities in Black maternal and infant health.
At CGI 2024, Healthy Birth Day, Inc. announced a new commitment to use AI technology to help detect pregnancy risks earlier and reduce disparities in maternal health.

COMMITMENT TO ACTION

CGI participants create Commitments to Action to address pressing global challenges, with a particular focus on actions that can make a difference today, tomorrow, and this year.

Our community of doers partner to develop new, specific, and measurable projects and programs to advance climate resilience, economic inclusion, health equity, humanitarian response, women and girls’ equality, and more.
