Commitment to Action

Netherlands School Feeding Program for Children in Ghana

Commitment by

Kingdom of the Netherlands

In 2005, the Netherlands committed to provide meals to 1 million children throughout the Ghanaian school system through 2015. This commitment aims to dramatically reduce the incidence of Ghanaian undernourishment and allow Ghana's younger generation to better withstand deadly diseases, and attend school more regularly. After 2015, an infrastructure in place should allow Ghana to continue the program without external support.
