Commitment to Action

A Billion Acts of Green - Renewable Energy for All

Commitment by

Earth Day Network

In 2011, Earth Day Network (EDN) committed to creating the Billion Acts of Green - Renewable Energy for All campaign which will use the Billion Acts of Green online platform to work with at least 25,000 individuals, five small local governments, and 10 small to medium sized businesses to enhance energy efficiency and increase the use of renewable energy. This commitment will expand on EDN's current Billion Acts of Green campaign, which is mobilizing these same stakeholder groups to take quantifiable action to improve the environment. The ultimate aim of this commitment is to facilitate action that will prevent one million pounds of new carbon emissions by June 2012 and the UN Earth Summit in Rio de Janiero.
