Eye Fund I
In 2006, Deutsche Bank, in partnership with the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness and Ashoka, committed to creating Eye Fund I. The program will be aimed at reducing blindness in the developing world by rapidly accelerating the expansion of eye care services.
The Eye Fund was successfully launched in January 2010. This Fund will support three eyecare centers in China, Nigeria, and Paraguay. Deutsche Bank has formed partnerships with the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) and Ashoka. Additionally, a complimentary grant fund has been established that will provide technical assistance, business planning, and training for each hospital.
