Commitment to Action

Malnutrition in Tanzania

Commitment by

Industrial Revelation

In 2007, Industrial Revelation committed $1,000,000 to fight malnutrition in Tanzania through local production of ready-to-use-therapeutic foods (RUTF) and advocacy within the government, with NGOs, and other stakeholders to raise the profile of malnutrition and give it the attention it deserves.
In 2009, Industrial Revelation entered into a tripartite agreement with Nutriset and a local food-manufacturing company called Power Foods Industries to construct a factory in Dar es Salaam to produce Ready-to-Use Foods. As of 2011, construction, installation of machinery, and employee trainings had been completed. The factory was approved by the national regulatory bodies and began production of Plumpy'nut.
