Rebuilding a New Haiti: Supporting the IHRC

Commitment by

McKinsey & Company, Eric Braverman

In 2010, McKinsey committed to support Haiti's recovery by providing the necessary resources to design and launch the Interim Haiti Recovery Commission (IHRC). The IHRC, which will be the official entity coordinating recovery efforts, has the opportunity to both improve the lives of Haitians now, as well as strengthen the country's capacity to deliver essential services in the future.
The IHRC will operate under the joint leadership of Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive and President Bill Clinton, before transitioning to a fully country-led Haitian Development Agency. As part of this commitment, McKinsey will evaluate the impact of the IHRC, including lessons learned in the transition from a multilateral effort to an independent, country-led institution.
